Create cutout in walls

Hello, a few months ago I created cutouts on my cylinders walls in line with the circular pattern in the center of my cylinder. I have an image of one I previously did but for the life of me I cant remember how? Can someone create a screencast of how it was done like the image shown below please? Thanks!

I would, but I don't know what you mean by cut out.

I can make that second sketch, but which section is to be used?

Are you sure?

You have 6 walls and centre bosses, but only 1 spoke in each body, I have four bodies turned off, body 2 is the same as body 1, and has been patterned as separate bodies.
