Correct way of reporting bugs

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi Fusion 360 Team,

I have been look (all over autodesk) for a dedicated bug report feature but have not found any.  I often notice minor glitches, but don't get them reported - simply because I am unsure how and where to report it. I also often feel that these issues must have been reported by others, but can not find a list of known bugs.

So what are the procedures from reporting bugs (also the tiny ones)?

Something like bugZilla would be great. If here in the forum, could someone make a school book example for a bug report.

merry Christmas

Peter

Hi @Anonymous,

Thank you for posting in the forum! This forum board is the correct place to report bugs in Fusion 360.

We don't have a public list of known defects but if you can't find a related topic within the forum, please feel free to create a new forum thread.

When reporting an issue, the following items would be helpful for us to investigate:

  • Description of the issue
  • File that you are experiencing the issue with
  • Screenshots of where you are seeing the issue
  • Screencast of the steps to reproduce the issue

Fusion 360 closes Chrome

Ok, so my problem is that launching fusion 360 will sometimes close a chrome tab. I have no ideea why this might happen.

Hi, I have found that when printing drawings, The info box which pops up regarding disassociated annotations doesn't just pop up once, but pops up n times, where n is the number of disassociated annotations in the drawing, not a big issue, but I thought I'd bring it up.

edit: (Up to 2 times)

Bug report:   Exporting to STL (non-commercial version current as of this post running on Windows 10) sometimes doesn't display the progress bar.  If I export the same file again after a minute or so, the COMPLETE status pops up immediately for a new version of the STL file, and the previous version never completes.  Exiting Autodesk 360 warns that an export is still in progress.  This is not a serious issue since there's an easy workaround.  I think it might have appeared within the last two software updates, but not sure.  Don't have any screenshots.

*edit  Forgot to mention that the first STL export attempt never shows progress and seems to be stuck.  That's why I retried exporting the same file.

@craighyattM3AQF

It probably would have been best to start a new discussion thread with a link back to this thread for reference.

But in any case,

it is much faster to simply right click Save as Mesh...

Faster and more options...

Good to know. I’ll try it and see if the Photon slicer can handle mesh.

Stl is mesh.

When you Save as Mesh select stl output, the same as Export.

Appreciate the attempt to help, but this thread is for a bug reports, and it’s wandering a bit off-topic.  I have a workaround, and I’m mainly interested in getting the bug fixed to help others. Thanks!

It's fixed.  Now when I export STL the progress bar works properly and the export is done quickly.  Thanks!

I have been using the "2-sided offset" feature, which I find is a very useful extension to the previous offset feature for creating offset lines in a sketch.

However, it has a bug. If I define the value of the offset using a parameter, the feature works correctly. But if I then change the value of the parameter, it affects only one side of the 2-sided offset. The other side remains at its previous value.

I just thought I would say that I find this unacceptable.

With the amount I pay for this product, I expect to have the ability to track thr progress of bugs that I report (Whether they have been accepted, whether it has been accepted into the backlog, notification of when it is fixed etc...)

Fusion window goes white and CPU utilization goes abnormally high when closing.

After the most recent update, the issue above appeared. CPU utilization during normal use also increased.

One of my students is having a problem with their assembly drawing. I don't have their files, but he did send me a screenshot from his computer. We also printed the drawing, and it printed the same as it appears on the screen. I have included the screenshot. Please let me know what information you need from me to properly diagnose the problem.Glitchy Fusion Drawing.png
