Controlling an Extrude

I have attached an image and the project itself in hope someone can show/advise me how to fill this space in.  From the attached drawing can you see how I have joined A into B  to create a strong neat join.  But how do I taper the side bits ?

Are you willing to start over from scratch with step-by-step instructions?

Absolutely, I'm bound to learn something  (there is some quite critical measurements in there)

If critical - then why aren't the sketches fully defined?

 

I see two different thicknesses - is this really really what you want?

(In my experience wall thickness is usually uniform in an injection molded part, but you state this will be 3D printed, in any case, uniform thickness is far easier to model.)

the lower part needs to be as thin as i dare go, the upper part needs to be thicker to give it some strength.

the upper part (the drawings you have highlighted) (BB MG02) are an imported DXF from another fusion drawing and don't seem to arrive with the constraints (I'm guessing if I don't fiddle with the sketch they won't alter)  and in any case a mm here or there won't make much difference.

It is the first sketch (BB MG) that needs to be +/- 0.1mm   and the distance and offset between the two sketches can't alter too much.    

I'm presuming from your comments I could have defined (locked) these better, could I ask how?

 

Although I am capable of doing quite a lot with fusion, as being self taught I am also under no illusions that there will be far better ways to achieve things -  so i am all for learning new and different approaches. So please tell me how.

 

I have now found away to achieve what I wanted, although it is very clumsy, see attached image.

and this raised another question, is it possible to project onto a sketch a section analysisy

For me to continue - I have to have an agreement to create precise geometry - otherwise it is not worth my effort.

I am not particularly interested in pretty pictures (unless I create them) - I need to see actual *.f3D geometry.

To start we will do this my way - then after initial attempt we will alter to do it your way...

 

Start a new file.

Start a new sketch on the XY plane.

Sketch a line below the Origin as shown below...

Add a Midpoint constraint between the line and the Origin...

Now dimension the horizontal line as shown below.

Add a vertical line (select and press x on the keyboard to change to Construction line).

Sketch another Horizontal line.

Add a Midpoint constraint as shown below...

Now add two angled lines.

Dimension as shown (we can edit the dimensions later).

Attach your new file here for next set of steps...
