Confusion about Mirror command use condition

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi,

(Model attached) I'm trying to make the features mirrored to the inner walls of the other two other grooves. There is a partial cut into the wall, and a half-circle protrusion, and finally a fillet around the protrusion. As you can see in the model, I could mirror certain parts with certain type of mirror, for instance the groove on top worked with mirror-face, and the protrusion worked with mirror-feature, but I cannot get an effective way other than trial and error. You can see in timeline I tried numerous different selection and different types (feature/face/body) but few worked.

Also, when I tried to mirror them to the adjacent wall (on the other side of the same quarter-block), it warns me that mirrored parts cannot intersect. So I really don't know which faces/features should I select, and what type of mirroring should I use.

There are a few other problems to sort,

I will presume you want 3 of these items, from a quick assessment of the file,

Use feature/s selected from the time line.

Use circular pattern count 4 and suppress the unwanted one.

Might help...
