Combine and trim lines in sketch

Hi all,

Noob here.  Trying to create a shape based on some bodies in my design.  I've projected the relevant lines from the design into a sketch, but now not sure how to combine and trim them to get the shape I want.  Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Allie

What shape do you want to get?  What do you want to do with the sketch, extrude it?  In most cases, you should never need to trim sketch lines/curves, and it is not possible to trim projected sketch entities anyway.

Let us know more about what you are trying to do, and we can help.

Thanks Jeff.  I'm trying to extrude this shape - it connects a couple of my bodies.  I managed to do it in the end without trimming (fusion 360 saw that the lines formed a closed shape i guess, and i was able to extrude), but happy to hear about better ways of doing this.  2018-05-16 16_01_14-Autodesk Fusion 360 (Education License).png2018-05-16 16_01_14-Autodesk Fusion 360 (Education License).png

Hi @Anonymous,

It looks like you've found the best approach - if what you want to do is extrude a profile, then there is no need to do any trimming, because the correct region will still be recognized by the Extrude command.
