At the Moment I am using a students license. As the license is going to expire soon would like to change my account to personal use. Could you tell me how to do that.

Thanks in advance,

Tim

Hi John

Came across your post as my student license expires in a few days. According to the information you linked, "with an active education license, you can't reuse those credentials for another Fusion license".

Would an expired student license be "inactive" automatically?

And does that mean that I could then change it to a personal use account?

That would save me lots of workarounds, such as creating a new account, transferring data, and all of this probably including losing my history in the forums?

And knowing if changing to a personal use account works after expiry of the student license would save me from work done in advance - work just done out of worries about losing data.

Thanks, Mani

Hi,

After the EDU license expires, a 30-day trial period begins.

During this time you can choose a new license type.

I was looking at the personal account.. they only allow 10 editable projects in the cloud... If I go from student to personal, how will that affect my previous work?

(sorry, duplicate post)

Hi,

10 active documents does not mean that you cannot create any more documents.
If you have already reached this number, you must set 1 or more of them to READ ONLY status in order to be able to actively edit the others.
You must decide for yourself whether this is acceptable to you.

When I make one writable, will another automatically become read-only?

Or do I have to make something else read-only first, then I can change the other one to read/write?

I'm guessing when I switch over to a personal account, the old files will all become read-only..

Hi

You will only have 10 editable projects at a time. You can switch any
project anytime from editable to non-editable or inversely to manage where
you want to work at. All your previous work will still be there, but most
of it non-editable if you got a significant number of projects.
Just let your student account run out, because switching to personal use
license before that time required special request to Fusion at the time
when I was finding out how to.
Cheers

Hallo,

Follow the recommendation of @mgrauZ237M  and wait until after the end of the EDU license again a 30 day trial with full functionality follows.
After this period is expired, you can change to the personal license.

Hi,

A year ago, the end of the EDU license was followed by a 30-day trial period with the end described above.
Possibly this has been changed.
Maybe this thread will help you.

I had the same issue and got it figured out. I had to go in to my autodesk account -> User Management -> By Product and then unassign myself from the product. Then, I opened F360 and logged in and the "Expired Subscription - Read Only" was replaced with "Personal - Not for Commercial Use.

Hopefully that will help.
