Canvas disappears in section analysis

Dear all,

canvas is the very first operation in the timeline.

Whenever I do a cross section analysis the canvas disappears. That is annoying as the canvas IS a cross section of my part and I would like to check it (visually) against the section analysis.

Is is supposed that the canvas is not shown in section analysis?

need a bit more info.  Is the canvas behind the section view?  I created a quick test case, and it seems to work OK for me:

The Canvas is exactly on the cross section.

This makes sense for me as the external 2d drawing is from that cross section and I need to (at least visually) compare the cross section of my model with the 2d drawing provided.

Even if I flip the cross section the canvas never appears.

Please attach the problem model.  If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 model follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save as a F3D or F3Z file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section, of a forum post, to attach it.

Dear John,

I created a new model which showcases the problem.

I want to check if the imported canvas matches the cross section analysis.

In both cases (flipped and non-flipped) cross section the canvas disappears completely.

You have the Section Analysis plane directly on top of the Canvas Plane so that will remove your canvas.  In the video I create a new Section Analysis plane .0001 mm off of the plane containing the Canvas and you are good to go.  You may argue that it is not perfectly on the canvas but consider for a second that you are comparing a picture to your model and the offset I introduced is way less than a human hair (.016 to .05mm), I think you are good to go.
