Cant place decal onto an object

I am having issues placing decals on this rocket model I've created. As the title mentions, I cannot place a decal onto this rocket body, not on any curved surfaces or even flat surfaces. Any tips or pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Take a look at the Screencast.  Model is attached.

@adzula - your design is composed of linked (external) components.  The Decal must be added in that design, not in the top assembly.  You will have to edit the external component - either in a separate tab or in place, and add the decal there.
