Cannot Save (option greyed out) - Basic Access?

Anonymous
Not applicable

Can't remember which licence I was using previously but it had expired so I setup a personal / non-commercial licence. Upon restarting Fusion360 - I can see I now have Basic Access (shown in the top right corner) but now all the Save and Export options are greyed out.

Is this issue related to Basic Access?

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks

Yes it is related to basic access.

For free users who are invited to other accounts there is limited functionality while viewing the designs owned by the other account.

Thanks... all sorted now.  Still don't understand the 'logic' why I have to create a new workspace to store my designs even though I'm using the same account/login albeit with a different licence?!

If a single paid user invites 100 free users to their hub they could have 101 designers drafters and engineers working on their product development, all for the price of one. I hope this helps explain it.

I have the Personnel license and this morning it pops up a BASIC ACCESS tab. I can open a drawing that I've saved in the past but when I try to 3D print it, that is grayed out. I tried to edit the drawing, and it appears that it behaves normally, however it does not save the line I added. Nothing is shared with anyone anywhere. I can't delete 'dead' drawings, basically it has become useless overnight. What's up with that?

Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?

Hi, Appreciate you looking at this problem. I think I have figured out it
out somewhat. I was an early Personal Use license user. I had been using
the Start-up license. When I tried the Personal Use path. It wouldn't move
over. After several attempts the 'Support Guy" said just download the
package use another email address. That is exactly what I did. Magically my
'old' drawing files were accessible to work with. When I drew new sketches,
they went into a different folder. I used the same 'Name' that I initially
signed up with. But, I used the 'new' email address for my sign-in. I never
shared any of my flles with anyone as I fully understood and respected the
'free use' nature of the product. In fact, when it first came out, there was
a Super promotion for $40 a year for support. I thought that this was 'so
neat' that I would contribute to the cause and expected nor required any
support. I'm in my mid-70s and this is a great way to keep the gray matter
active. I've built some pretty cool HO scale models along the way. Recently
I built and donated a scale model of a long gone train station to our local
History Center. It's a hobby, plain and simple. So, I was able to see that
one of the folders was named "Jim's First Project" and it looks as if it was
built using the macino@macino email address. First Project uses the
jim@icmgt.com address. I could see but not edit the
Jim's First Project files as of this morning. Now I can't even see them. The
'First Project' files appear to be intact. Thanks for looking!

Hi,

I have a problem with the F360. I accidentally installed BASIC ACCESS. I can't save files. I want to turn it into a personal do-it-yourself license. It is possible?

Hi,

What you are seeing is the result of having a free personal license and being a member of a paid commercial hub. Right now you are a member of a commercial team and need to switch away from that hub.

Thank you for your response. Is it possible to delete this commercial version and install the personal version?

You have the personal version installed. Use the team switching list to switch to your own (personal) team hub. Right now you are visiting a commercial hub. The switching tool is how you change hubs.

I had the same problem, related to the subscription. I use fusion time to time for hobby. Every time I load Fusion, the subscription is expired. This time I lost my drawing. I understand that I'm using this free but 495$ a year is too much for using this 4 times a year. Like for 5-10€ per month is acceptable tho for the hassle free use. This is a deal breaker for me and will switch to an open source program. Little bummer as the software is pretty intutive and has a good learning curve.

Thanks for the feedback.

Just so you know: The problem described in this thread has nothing to do with expired subscription. The discussion on this thread is about using a free account to view data on a paid account. Fusion blocks free users from doing commercial work and shows Basic Access. Basic Access is not and Expired Account problem.

When you subscribe for free access, the term is 365 days. So you should only see the expired subscription once every year. I'm sorry you lost data while Fusion was letting you do work while expired.
