Cannot make a "solid" (closed) body with the 'loft' command

Hi all,

To keep things brief, I'm trying to make a closed body by connecting two sketches with the loft command. At the end, however, I cannot. I've attached a video that should hopefully clarify my issue (please let me know if I need to provide more information).

Sketches are fine, You are lofting with Surface mode, (orange icon)

change to Solid mode, blue Loft icon.
