I can loft all the other parts of this design, but when I try to loft the end of it I get an error.

can you share the design here?  I suspect that the error message is accurate, but I think what you want to do should be possible.

Thanks for the model, @mmartinez7ZF3F .  The basic problem is this (and the error message is correct, though a bit obscure).  Loft cannot do this:

the ends are the two "regions of coincidence".  I'm not sure why that is.  So, you have to do this in two steps.  First, loft as a solid:

then, do another loft cut:

resulting in this:

So, I set out to do this on your model.  But, I found that Loft9 was badly constructed

if you select the lower piece, you can see that it has not properly joined to that part of the body:

so, I had to adjust the profiles in sketch4 so that they accurately intersected the lower part of the body.  Then, that loft joined correctly:

Then, I was able to use the two-loft trick to get the shape I think you wanted:

I had to add another rail for the inner section:

but the result is probably close to what you want.  I attached my model here, but it is a bit ragged, I apologize - I left it rolled back, and left some old, bad lofts there, but it should point you in the right direction:

hope it helps

Wow thanks! That's a big help. I see you adjusted sketch 4 to go through to the bottom of the profile. I'll be sure to do that on future drawings. Thanks for taking the time to help me learn something new.
