Cannot launch app, splash screen then nothing.

Hello,

Before the new year I had no problems at all with Fusion360 but recently I have suddenly become unable to even launch the application.

When I try to launch, I get the splash screen coming up fine and then it disappears and nothing follows. When i hover over the Fusion icon in the task bar I see a minimized view of a blank white screen but i cannot switch to it by clicking on the icon, using alt+tab or any other method of switching windows.

Following troubleshooting advice from similar issues on these forums and in the fusion360 troubleshooting guide I reset Fusion using the service tool, updated all my drivers, did a complete wipe and reinstall but so far nothing has worked. I still have the exact same issue. I have not changed anything in my network settings either so i do not think this should be a connection issue.

Has anyone else experienced this same issue and successfully resolved it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for letting us know. It might be a login issue. Can you try this please?

Thank you for the response, it does not seem to be a sign in issue as I already tried downloading the desktop client and launching with this method.

I was trawling through more posts of issues similar to this one and I came across this one:

Solved: Fusion does not launch I'm posting diagos logs for case 19892114 - Autodesk Community - Fusi...

Where they suggest a number of things including simply attempting to maximize the "blank" screen from the task bar by right clicking on the preview and selecting maximize, rather than just trying to switch to the window by clicking on it. When i tried this the "blank" window immediately opened to the login page where i was able to login as usual and proceed with launching the app. Once i got past this initial hang-up everything seems to be working fine.

I may try the extended steps suggested in this post to run Fusion in compatibility mode if I continue getting this every time I launch but for now at least I can use the program again.

Thanks for your help,

James

but for now if all i have to do is manually maximize the window then that's fine.

I'm happy to have helped! It's such a strange error, so simple in the end but so tricky to diagnose and so frustrating since it completely cuts off access to the program. My IT guy spent ages trawling through all the most complicated things he could think of and found nothing but after I manually "maximized" the window once Fusion's been launching and working perfectly for me ever since.
