Cannot export stl from MacBook Pro

I've been trying to export an STL from Fusion 360 for over a week through my MacBook Pro and the program keeps stalling out.

I've done the following:

  • File-Export

  • File-3D Print

  • Body - Save as Mesh

All of these options basically stall out on the export process and don't popup the window for the export location. I've let the process sit for hours with no success.

In addition, I clean uninstalled Fusion 360, restarted my MacBook and then reinstalled directly from my Fusion 360 online account.

I don't have any errors on the file and can continue editing, as needed.

Any suggestions?

MacBook Pro (Mid-2015), Big Sur 11.3, Fusion 360 2.0.10446

I can't export currently.

I cannot reproduce this. Both bodies can be exported with Save as Mesh without problems. Odd!

Is the problem you are not getting the Save As dialog? Not sure if this problem affects Macs but take a look though this thread and this post for a fix.

Interesting. I'll have to keep digging. Happy to hear the files actually will export properly! Now to find the gremlin on my end.

Correct. I did look through your linked solution before posting and was not able to solve my issue with that solution. The file was created on the same Mac I'm using and I didn't use an external drive of any sort. Also, I am logged in with the same password. I'll just have to keep digging. Thanks for responding though!

Do you have any problems with other import\export? For example does Insert DXF work?

I decided to do some "housekeeping" on my Macbook AND I restarted without my external monitor connected. I don't know the one thing that allowed me to export in multiple ways, but I was successful in exporting mesh and step files.

The "housekeeping" consisted of deleting an old user profile on my MacBook, as well as some Google specific programs (slides, docs, etc.), followed by a restart. I'm guessing there was some sort of conflict between profiles, both of which had Fusion 360 installed w/ my login information active.
