Cannot Create New Project

When I try to create a new project I get the following error:  "Not Allowed PUT /communities/api/user/create for b78b90a9171f.1664285fd95".

I confirmed my license is up to date. Tried logging in/out to no avail.   Can anyone help me with this?

I just upgraded my Personal - Free account and now I can't create new projects.  What's the fix?

I have the same problem. Why no solution for this thread?

It's 2021 yet no solution? I used Fusion 360 an year ago. Earlier I found it says term-expired or something when I opened it, so I re-downloaded it. Now I can't create a new project and this error pops up:

+1 - seems to affect anyone who has had there account expire. Once you go through the process to reactivate a free account using the same credentials as before it causes this error.

Since it looks like an API permission issue, maybe when the account is reactivated its creating a new key? and the application is still using the original key so its running into a permission issue?

Can a dev please look into this? Can Autodesk please provide a response? Thanks.

@bl4s7er, @Anonymous , @M0J01 and the others affected by this: are you member of a team inside Fusion 360? I ran into the same issue you have and did a lot of reading until I finally found the solution:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/fusion-360/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How...

My account was created way before the end of June 2019 and so I did not have a team hub only my single-user storage containing all the projects I created throughout the years. Once I followed the instructions provided above and switched to the "team" I created, I could create new projects again.

From my understanding every user needs a "team" from now on, even if you're only doing personal projects irrespective of the type of license you have(?). Looks like the requirement may have been introduced in 2019 but didn't affect many old users and only the recent changes highlighted the issue!? Maybe one of the moderators here could clarify whether my assumption is correct.

I just wish it were made more obvious for old account owners that they have to create a team. I bet a lot of the issues with new project creation are caused by this.

Thank You!! This was the solution to the problem for me. Its a real shame that Autodesk themselves couldn't give the solution to this problem. You are a legend for fixing this when they couldn't.

You're welcome. 🙂

I don't understand why the solution to this (probably very common) issue isn't more readily available.

Glad, I could be of help!

Thanks!

So, now I have this:

And all my old projects are in single-user storage, while new projects can be created in my team.

The page you linked to also links to a page on how to transfer projects to the team: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/fusion-360/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How...

Basically, go to https://myhub.autodesk360.com/g/all_projects/active then select the user that has the single-user storage:

Then you can transfer each project:

EDIT

There seems to be a way to transfer all projects: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/fusion-360/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How...

TLDR: After creating a team inside Fusion 360, go here and transfer the files: https://login.autodesk360.com/login/signup?edition=business&product=fusion&onboarding=true

The page takes some time to load after you press Finish.
