Can't open older file. Am I hosed?

I'm trying to open an older design of mine, but am bumping into:

bentwookie_0-1643498788919.png

The previous versions don't open either. The filename shows a little warning icon, with the tooltip: File is not available at the moment.

Kinda feels like they've lost my design here. Any thoughts on how to get this file back?

There's all kinds of metadata about the project, changes, renders, etc, but nothing will touch the actual file. Attempts at exporting to an archive all fail.

I see some other posts about people having similar issues. Many without replies. I'm feeling quite screwed as a customer.

Can you go to your online database and download an achieve copy from there.  If you do not know how to get there, go into your data panel, make sure you are in the correct project, and click the indicated icon.  Once there, find the file, and select the icon to download an achieve.  It will be sent to your email account related to your Autodesk ID.

The export to an archive from the web fails.

@bentwookie @When was this file last saved? Also, I take it you are on the latest version of Fusion 2.0.12160?

I passed on this to our engineering team to see if we know of what could be happening.

Thanks! I appreciate you forwarding it on.

I'm on 2.0.12160. The designs show a mod date of 3/13/2020, but I think that's just the date my paid subscription started. The date of the last version I saved/checked-in was 8/15/2014.

@bentwookie @TheCADWhisperer Can you please see if this is design specific or any designs saved in 2014 (or some other years) are seeing this problem?

I'm able to open some other 3/13/2020 files but I've discovered that other projects are also missing now 😞

I'm also bumping into this error while simply searching:

Yikes. Feels like my storage is corrupted.

Yeah. Heaps of my early designs are just gone. Forgive an old man a rant, as I'm pretty upset.

If you're going to lock us into your cloud, seems like the least you could do is not lose the files we're forced to put there.

Hi @bentwookie@TheCADWhisperer – Can you please try opening a design where you're seeing the problem, and then collect and share the log files? That could help us with diagnosis. Thanks.

@bentwookie Thank you for your patience. We have found the root cause of this issue and it appears to be 2014/2015 related files. We are working on a backend fix for this issue for all the impacted files/customers.

We believe we have fixed all your files in this situation. Can you please confirm if you are able to open these files now?

@TheCADWhisperer We are working on the larger files for these files. We are hoping we can complete the backend fix for your file by this Thursday. Please do let us know if there is an urgency to access these files.

We do apologize for the downtime.

Yay! I'm able to open these files! Thanks for getting to the bottom of it. In the meantime, is there anything I need to avoid doing to prevent this from happening in the future?

@bentwookie Thank you for the confirmation and apologies once again for the hold up. There is nothing you need to do on your side to avoid this in the future. This was on us for some of the really old files. We are working to make the full fix in place.

The file now opens.

I guess I need to go back through all of my older work.
