Can't move UNRELATED features/sketches in timeline

I have the same problem that @soofle616 had last month (link) however restarting the application does not fix it for me. Reinstalling also does not help.

I thought my design was too complex (?) but even if I start a new design, sketch a circle on one plane, and sketch a rectangle on another (NO PROJECTIONS/CONSTRAINTS/ETC), I can't reorder those sketches in the timeline.

I have tried changing the Design History preference to "Do not capture...", restarting, and manually enabling "Capture Design History" on the component, but that still results in a "stuck" timeline.

Please attach one of your models exhibiting the issues you are experiencing.  If you need to know how to attach your model, open in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save to your hard drive then attach it to a reply post.

I have attached an f3d file, it simply contains 2 sketches. One with a circle and one with a rectangle.

I have also attached a screen recording of me trying to reorder the sketches in the timeline, but to no avail.

No problem my end, Left Click hold and drag it.

The Sketch 1 and 2 are interchangeable in the timeline.

that doesn't mean the sketch order changes in the Browser, as that is chronological.

Might help....

This is a mystery then... something in my Fusion 360 settings is preventing me from moving movable features in my timeline.

Just tried restoring my preferences to defaults, didn't fix it.

Can confirm you have reordered the sketches in the timeline. Frustratingly I can't change their order myself.

Just resolved the issue with the help of Autodesk live support chat! The resolution is quite unbelievable.

I was running Fusion on an external monitor, configured in display settings as the secondary display to the left of my main (laptop) display, as that is the physical arrangement.

Turns out the timeline doesn't work properly in that arrangement. The timeline only works properly on the main display, or on an additional display configured as being to the right of the main display in display settings.

Fixed the issue by setting my external monitor as my main display, and my laptop screen as secondary (to the right.)

Wow, that is quite unbelievable. I've been having this issue for months and was starting to think it was just me. I've been using fusion almost exclusively on my desktop's secondary monitor and this issue has been really frustrating.

Is there an open bug report for this yet? Reassigning or switching monitors is not a solution for me.

I was assured by the live chat support staff that it has been submitted as a bug report.

+1 on the resolution, is there a way to fix that?  i run 3 monitors and work in the center monitor for cad/cam, the right monitor is windows and the far left is linux and i use barrier to connect the mouse and keyboard to all 3.  moving my main monitor to the right plays havoc on that setup.  seems like monitor shouldn't be influencing this type of edit???

Is the middle monitor Windows or Linux?
If it's Windows and set to be the main display, it should work without any physical rearrangement.

If it's Windows but the right monitor is set as the main display, try changing the main display to be the middle monitor.

WOW!! Thank you. Thought I was losing my mind. I've had the same problem for months and assumed a Fusion update would resolve the issue. Moving Fusion to my laptop monitor rather than the external monitor to the left of my laptop solved the problem. Never in a million years would I have figured that out!

To expand on this very odd bug... I have a drawing template that I created years ago. From time to time I create simple profile drawings to send for laser cutting and I delete all extraneous stuff (title block, border, revision block etc.). Well, for some reason, I've always been able to delete everything except a table I had created in the template to track revision history. It's infuriating and I always figured I was missing something simple. Nope! I need to drag my Fusion 360 session onto my main laptop screen in order to delete the table! Unbelievable! Chylld, you have saved my sanity!

Thanks for the help! Moving Fusion to my main display fixed the issue. I can now change the order of features in the timeline. Much appreciated.

Thank you so much for this solution! I was pulling my hair out.

As a software engineer, I'm curious how one would even implement a bug like this if you were trying to. What other kinds of things would you want to limit the user to only doing on the "main" screen?
