Can't emboss extrude SVG to surface

I'm trying to emboss(inward) an SVG image on a project I'm doing for my nieces and nephews Christmas presents but I'm unable to select the face to emboss, which is the top of a dome. I'm very new to Fusion 360 and read that this could be because there are too many degrees of curvature.  Is that true?

I  also tried to go in another direction and extrude the SVG to the surface but got the following error  "Error: Cannot extend extrusion to object. The extrusion profile falls outside the boundary of the selected body. Select a face or plane instead, or adjust the profile so that it falls inside the boundary of the selected body."

I would be very appreciative if anyone could help me get the image on in either method, but prefer an inward emboss.

Thank you

STL is a mesh format.  You cannot emboss onto a mesh.  You need solid geometry.  This geometry looks simple enough, I would re-create it using Fusion native commands.  You can try to convert the STL to a solid in the Mesh environment, but that will likely not work either.  I tried the simple approach, and it would not allow the emboss.  So, create the geometry natively.

The .SVG file embosses (-ve) a solid Body no real problems so I suggest you create the Dome needed inside Fusion 360 as a Solid Body. Mine is a sphere so perhaps keep yours the same?Screenshot 2023-12-04 184152.png
