Can't deselect sketch

This is not an issue I can easily reproduce, have no idea what causes it, and have no idea what makes it go away. It is incredibly frustrating, and I hope it's not just something obvious I'm missing. The only consistent way to get rid of it is to restart entirely, which is dumb.

It's something I've faced on and off for about 3 years in Fusion on any number of files (new or imported), but finally could be bothered to record it happening.

Occasionally while drawing, I get stuck in an instance where I can't deselect (or even select) a single sketch. It's constantly selected, and no combination of keybinds, selecting/deselecting, hiding, etc makes it stop.

I can't even interact with that sketch as it thinks it is already selected.

What is going on?

Hi,

Move the cursor back and forth on the timeline (several times if necessary)

Did you actually watch the video, or are you just saying things that pop into your head?

There are no additional components. I can't 'switch between components and bodies' as there is only one.

I've seen this many times in my work on different computers. It is indeed frustrating.
I cannot reproduce it or identify the root cause. It appears to be completely independent of the design I work in.

However, That lack of reproducibility makes it difficult to debug on the Autodesk side. It has been reported!
