Can not punch holes in mirrored components

Anonymous
Not applicable

After drawing the frame the components were mirrored to get a copy. Now I need some holes in the mirrored frame for dowels.

I can make the sketch (projected), can extrude the holes .... until preview. After hitting OK in the extrude window there are no holes.

Creating the holes in the original is not an issue.

I am relatively new to Fusion 360 so I am curious to know if this is 'normal' behavior or not. If I need to change my workflow, your help is much appreciated.

Hi,

take a look at this thread

Perhaps your observation is comparable.

Hello Gunther, I tried to cut the holes in the opposite direction as mentioned in thethread you are referring to but get the error below. In the beam perpendicular to the sketch are already holes so nothing to cut in the direction of the arrow.

I removed some parts since I didn't want to throw it all in the open which causes the refence issues on some sketches.

Hi,

I think it is the same behaviour as in the above thread.
Extrusion on mirrored component does not work.
Please post your contribution there too?

Thank you for your support Günther. Seems like Autodesk has to solve it!

Hi,

That is definitely the case.
I have just replaced the mirrored component with a new one to check and, voila, the extrusion works.

A fix has been identified for this problem, and the next Fusion update should include it.  Thanks for your patience...

Hello Jeff, when can we expect the update you are referring to?

Kind regards, Martin.

The update of april solved the problem only half. If you punch holes in three components in the same plane by one sketch, only one component gets holes.

I tried the mirror 'features' variant. This does not work at all.

So the last update did not bring a solution.

Kind regards,

Martin.
