Bug: Sketch Offset Default 1mm Value Deviation

Using the sketch offset tool, the default value pre-filled in the dialog box is 1.00mm. If the user accepts this pre-filled value by pressing enter or clicking OK, the offset value isn't actually 1.00mm, more like 1.0000001. This can be seen by then using the inspect tool with 8 decimal points of precision selected. I understand the error is small, but this could be unknowingly amplified further in the design through scaling or other methods.

Can you produce the unexpected error by Scaling or other methods?

Fusion is good for 6 decimal places.
unless your a nuclear scientist you would not be able to measure the error.

Might help….

Hi,

1. The measuring tool refers to the marked elements in the display, but not to the real geometry.

2. Check the dimension in  a drawing from design

I've seen this error if you just accept the size rather than typing it in. I've seen it in the past using snap to grid as well so always turn that off and type sizes in.

In your example I see the same problem if you just accept the 1.00mm then edit the sketch it will be out by a very small unmeasurable size in the real world.

But if you actually type 1 it comes out correct. This has been reported in the past but I guess bigger bugs to fix first.

This is what I get after typing in 1.
