[Bug report] Appearance on component body faces is lost

Hi,

I noticed a bug with the appearance function when it is applied on a component:

1 - Make a sketch and extrude it selecting "New Component"
2 - Apply an appearance to the whole component body
3 - Apply another appearance to a face of the component body
4 - Now go back and forth in the timeline, the appearance that was set on the face is lost

Thanks

Another bug is that i'm unable to embed the screencast, it says "Your post has been changed because invalid HTML was found in the message body. The invalid HTML has been removed. Please review the message and submit the message when you are satisfied." and removes the screencast.

Thanks for the report and clear steps to reproduce the issue. I logged a ticket for the bug.

I found that if you use Compute All the face appearance will be restored.

Thanks for the workaround @Phil.E . It saves me a lot of time.

This bug is persists 4 years later in 2025...

Confirming that Solid -> Modify -> Compute All is the fix.

Glad I found this page after much troubleshooting.
