I am trying to slice a model around this opening below.
Every method I try fails for an unknown reason.
1- Slicing with a surface tool
Create a surface around it, and slice the model with this surface
You can see the error is bollocks, there is definitely intersections between the target and split tool.
In addition, this has worked before. Since then, I've modified things in the timeline, and this does not work anymore.
2- Extrude and combine
Extrude a solid to "new body", then use a xor-Combine operation.
3- Extrude-cut
Simply extrude-cut the shape
This has never been a problem in other situations.

The method (1) (slice with surface tool) has worked in the past. I could make a screenshot by navigating the model history:
Clearly there is something wrong with the new model, but I cannot figure out what.
