- We are pretty sure this is a bug, because we could reproduce the behaviour on another System within a new fusion design.
- System: Fusion 2.0.8816, Active Plan: Fusion 360 Subscription, Windows 10 (19041)
- Description for reproducing the error:
+ a 2D adaptive operation gets pocketselections by selecting multiple connected contour elements from a sketch rather than selecting a closed contour line.
+ these contour elements open up to the outside of the stock, so that machining should start from outside stock.
+ the contour contains arc elements, which are pointing convex into the contour area.
- the error:
+ tangential lines to these arcs on both endpoints of these arcs are artificially limiting the machined area, as seen in the attached screenshot.
- Workaraound which should do it in most cases: close the contour within the sketch in a random way outside the stock area. then select the single closed contour instead of multiple contour segments.
- The bug does not reproduce, when tried with a contour, that lays completely inside stock boundaries.
- Sorry if this has been reported before. I have done a quick search, but could not find similar reports.
(- the open contour, which starts and ends outside of the green stock area, was selected. red arrows where checked for correct machining sides)
