Bug: Coil feature doesn't allow non-integer values for Revolutions after January 2024 update

To reproduce:

  • Enter Design workspace
  • Create a Coil feature
  • Select plane and centre point
  • Enter values in the Coil dialog, including a non-integer value for Revolutions (eg 0.5)

Behaviour pre January 2024 update:

  • All entered values have black font
  • OK button in Coil dialog is selectable
  • Feature creates coil body as specified

Behaviour post January 2024 update:

  • Value for Revolutions has red font
  • OK button in Coil dialog isn't selectable
  • Cannot create feature

Additional info:

  • I have parts created before the Jan 2024 update including Coil features with non-integer Revolutions.  If I open these parts in the latest version the Coil features will roll through successfully, but if I try to edit them they fail.

This is a known issue, logged as FUS-148366

As a workaround, you can create a parameter of the coil revolutions and then edit that value, the coil should solve correctly.

Hi Seth

Can you say anything about when this bug is expected to be fixed?

And in the meantime is there any possibility to roll back to the older version without the bug?

I have another problem that might be related: If I create a coil with a circular section and a pitch less than or equal to the section size, it fails to solve. If I do the same with square or triangular sections, it works as expected. It looks like I can only attach two images, not three as promised in the text, so I can't show the working circular section. I changed the section from 30 mm to 30.001 mm, and then it works.
