Bug: Band selection broken by zoom

While trying to select just the right thing, I often need to start a band selection zoomed out, and then zoom/translate to a specific point to end. The problem is the act of zooming breaks the start position. Here's a screencast:

I feel like this used to work in sketches. It works on the Eagle side.

It looks like by zooming you are moving the objects outside of the selection window.

The yellow box in your example only shows the preview of what will be selected once you finish the selection.

My preference is to zoom out, select (Usually too much), then zoom in and deselect (Ctr select) what I don't need.

The internal coordinates of the band selection should be in terms of the view (the canvas) and not the window. I'm struggling to think of another app that works this way. Even Eagle does it right.

Agreed, it is strange that it is lined to the canvas.

Hopefully, the Developers can address this in one of the upcoming updates.
