Hi, after the last update the drawing environment will not function properly.

The top of the sheet is ok, but the lower part is missing both the drawing and the title-tab.

When i print or output to pdf everything looks normal.

Any help would be apperciated.

Hi @NilsErik.Sviland

I'm sorry to hear that you are having trouble. I'm sure we can get this sorted!

This issue is usually related to a graphics problem. On AMD cards, we've seen Windows updates roll back drivers, have a look here: https://clintbrown.co.uk/updating-graphics-setting-for-fusion-360-customers-experiencing-fuzzy-or-mi...

I recently saw this on a system with an Nvidia setup, have a look here: https://clintbrown.co.uk/2022/07/27/troubleshooting-dual-graphics-cards-on-windows/

If you need help finding the right driver, please run the diagnostic and paste your results into a reply.

Hi @NilsErik.Sviland

Looks like there is a newer driver available for that GPU, try downloading and installing this one.

https://www.nvidia.co.uk/download/driverResults.aspx/196828/en-uk

When installing, the best option is to always use a "clean" install, here are the steps (it's really simple): https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-uk/000190215/installing-nvidia-video-drivers-with-the-clean-in...

If this does not resolve the blurriness, you will need to follow these Nvidia setup steps, unfortunately Windows have decided to override the setting in the NVIDIA control panel, so you have to set programs up manually now 😞 https://clintbrown.co.uk/2022/07/27/troubleshooting-dual-graphics-cards-on-windows/

Hi again Clint, this issue is still unresolved.

Normally I work on an external monitor with my laptop in a docking station, I have discovered that this problem only occurs while connected to external monitor.

To be clear, this exact setup has worked for a long time before this problem started after the last update.

Best regards

Hi @NilsErik.Sviland

I hear what you are saying, and I am trying to guide you towards a solution. I really want to help you!

It's worth noting that we have not made any changes that would impact graphics in drawings in this release. The last "graphics" update was in July. So, although this issue has only surfaced now, it is highly unlikely to be due to the last Fusion update. If there was an issue with graphics that was directly caused by the last update, we would have multiple reports of it.

As mentioned in my previous reply, there was a newer graphics driver available for your graphics card. Did you install it using a clean installation?

Also, did you do the manual Graphics Setup? I know it's not ideal, but there really is nothing we can do, when the operating system starts to override the graphics setting & setup.

Hi again Clint, I have no doubt you`re trying to help me and I apologize if it seemed otherwise.

I have tried everything you mentioned (or more correctly the IT-department did) , but still no joy.

I still end up with about 25% of the screen beeing washed out/missing lines, what I have found is that if I run fusion in a window on the top of my monitor it works better than in fullscreen.

Working in just the top of the monitor on a detailed drawing is not ideal by any means and I hope we can find a better solution to this.

Best regards

Hi once again Clint, I just tried turning down the resolution from 3840 X 2160 to 2560 X 1440 and this seems to do the trick. Is fusion lacking support for 4k or is there something else in my settings ?

Hi @NilsErik.Sviland

I run the following resolution with no issues on my Windows machine:

ClintBrown3D_0-1670921403159.png

I would suggest checking that the Windows Graphics settings definitely show FusionLauncher.exe listed as "High performance".

ClintBrown3D_1-1670921853562.png

There are a few other things you can try (do these one at a time, you may need to reboot between experiments);

  • As an experiment, can you try plugging the screen directly into your laptop (bypassing the dock)?
  • Also try a different cable, see if this makes a difference, maybe HDMI instead of USB C (or another combination)
  • If bypassing the dock helps, it might be worth asking IT to look at the drivers for the dock.
  • Ask IT to set the external monitor as the primary monitor

Hope this helps, please let me know how you get on.

Hi Clint, I can verify that Fusion has been running in high performance all along.

I turned the resolution back to 3840x2160 and the problem returned, however when I disabled this everything seemed ok.

Thanks for all your help, and hopefully this can be of value to others in the same situation.
