Auto save and switching between Desktop and Laptop not opening latest version

I am trying to work on the same model on my desktop pc and switch to my laptop when I am on the road.  I am working in online mode and when I close Fusion 360 I allow the program to save the file online before closing.

When I switch machines (pc to laptop or vice versa) I don't see the latest version of the model if I worked on the other pc/laptop.  As a result I use CTRL+S often so I can at least find a recent-ish version of the model to start working with and I don't lose too much work.

Often, when I open the same file on the same pc/laptop I get a notice that there is an auto-recovered version of the file.  Other times when I open the file on the same pc/laptop a dialog immediately opens telling me that the local copy is being uploaded to the cloud, please wait.

Sooo, when I close the program, how can I be sure the model has been uploaded to the cloud so I know that the next time I open the model on ANY pc/laptop I will have the latest version?

You could go to the online dashboard and check. Also going to the design's project in the data panel and check the versions match and there's no spinning wheel on the design. You might want to try clearing the user catch but make sure all designs are up to date online as any files not uploaded will be lost.

Great idea, I'll bookmark the dashboard and use it more often.

Dashboard shows that the model is "In use", although I have closed Fusion 360 and shut down my home PC.  I wonder if I am shutting down my PC while the file is being uploaded by a background process?

Normally Fusion will warn you if there's something uploading. One thing to try on the PC with the newest version, switch to offline mode, open the file make a small mod and save then go back online and see if it uploads to the latest version.

Might be worth using Save As to create a copy as well then try Clear Cache Data under the question mark top right of screen. Warning this will delete anything that's not uploaded.

Hi @Anonymous,

Sorry that you're having trouble seeing the latest changes from another machine. As @HughesTooling mentioned, normally, when you exit Fusion, it should warn you if there are any pending uploads. If that's not happening, there's clearly something wrong. Are you noticing this issue after every save? When you see it the next time, would you please share your Diagnotics log files (from the machine where you did the last save/upload) with us? They will give us valuable info on whether the uploads had any issues, etc.

Thx and regards,

Every time I open Fusion 360 on my desktop I get the following message (screenshot after file is uploaded).  Oddly, on my laptop the files seem to save reliably.  I usually close Fusion 360, then come back 15 minute later, start Fusion 360 again.  Wait for the file to upload, then close Fusion 360. Then I can open the latest version of my file on my laptop.  Attached is my log file from today.Uploads Failed - Now Complete.JPG

Hmm, I'm stumped. From the diagnostics files that you provided, I don't see any files stuck in your queue. I also don't see any other pending jobs (no jobs.json file). So, I don't know why the Job Status dialog should show up every time you restart Fusion. I'm going to inquire internally if anyone else has seen this issue. As a last resort, would you mind doing a reinstall of Fusion?

@Anonymous  If you do a reinstall make sure you use the clean uninstall tool here.
