Appearance not applying to imported bodies

Hi, 

I have imported IGES bodies that Fusion won't allow me to apply an appearance to.  Says something about a referenced component, in a drop-out that appears for the blink of a hummingbird's eye !!!! Does anyone know what the workaround/solution to this is ???

Can you File>Export and then Attach your *.f3d file here?

Can you zip and Attach the original *.igs file here?

Do you have a surface body or do you have a solid body?

if your design contains linked component (references from one design to another), you cannot apply a color to a body in an external component.  So, you can open that design, and apply a body color there, or you can apply the appearance to the component (by dragging the appearance to the component in the browser).  If you need a screencast, I can provide one.
