Another Stuck upload issue

Since yesterday my Fusion 360 refuses to upload files.

It just spins and spins forever:

riaanmarx_0-1684086790099.png

and the job status window also does not progress any further:

riaanmarx_2-1684087413921.png

and when I try to open the design from the project in the Data tab, there is an exclamation mark

riaanmarx_1-1684087195227.png

and a message "the file is not available at the moment" for existing files. New files like the savetest I did above does not show at all, not even when viewing the projects on the web through a browser.

I have tried many of the solutions on the web:

Clearing cache

Manually clearing the queue

Created new project and new minimal design and tried to save

I even tried to repair, and ultimately uninstalled, deleted residual files and reinstalled Fusion 360.

I tried to collect diagnostic logs using the Help (?) button, but that produced this error:

riaanmarx_3-1684087737317.png

Any help will be appreciated.

Kind regards,

Riaan

I hesitate to send this webpage along to you as you will say you have already done everything is says.  I hope will will follow it to the last and be sure and execute the text command within Fusion 360, as you did not mention it.  It solved the same issue for me awhile back.

@riaan.marx @Another one to test and fry is please check you upload and download speeds. Can you you post them here ?

if you can also restart your router and then your machine , I am thinking it will likely help all of these files move forward.

Collecting you disgnosriog files will certainly help too.

Thanks John.
After a day and a half there is a lot I have tried, yes. But I am willing to give anything another shot here. If F360 has problems with something as trivial as saving my work, then I doubt it is the right solution for anyone. I am just a hobbyist, but imagine a architect/designing firm battling for 2 days to save their design?....At least for me the cost is only frustration and time. Anyway - let me go through those steps and see if it helps this time....you never know...
Cheers,
Riaan

Browsing through the log files myself I saw a lot of 404 results from API calls.

I noticed there is a network diagnostic test in the Service Utility. I ran this test to check if my laptop is blocking something...all seems to be accessible:

Browsing the logs, I found this section - not sure if it clouds or sheds more light on the issue:

I launched "Fiddler" to monitor http traffic, and also found these API calls failing constantly with 404:

I checked my Network preferences on my profile and noticed that the proxy was set to "No Proxy" which is correct, but the Server Verification setting was set to not warn at all. I changed this to "Warn when accessing through an intermediate server" and then got this error message:

riaanmarx_2-1684141113273.png

No I don't have a proxy server and my laptop is continually updated by our corporate update service, so that leaves anti-virus / protection programs. These have not been a problem in the past, but I will investigate.

Clearing the upload queue does not solve the problem. The next file you try to save just stalls again...

Is there a document or a set of steps on how to do a COMPLETELY CLEAN install?

Something like

1) uninstall the app normally

2) delete these files: .....

3) delete these registry entries: ....

4)  .....

5) run this clean--up tool or something

6) download a new installation and install the app as if it is a virgin installation

???

Problem is solved for me!

I figured out, that it only happens with two designs. I saved them both as new design files, now everything works like a charm!

Very happy for you DieterP.

Unfortunately my problem recurs even if I create a brand new file with a single cube drawn in it from scratch.

@riaan.marx I had our engineering team look at the problem. We need your help to collect some more information.

1. Close Fusion 360
2. Reopen Fusion 360
3. Go to "View - Show text commands"
4. Set the option to Txt
5. Enter os3.verbose /on

What this does is enables to add extra logging of the Fusion 360 an uploads.

6. let Fusion sit for a few minutes and try to continue the uploads . In fact create a new design and try to save it to for an upload
7. After a few minutes - now can you please collect the diagnostics log files again please and attach it here?

This should help since there will be addition logs on what could be happening.

Hi @RajkumarIlanchelian ,

I tried to follow your simple instructions as close as possible, but to get the log files collected I had to restart the laptop etc. I also made some screenshots of the job status window and a few other windows in the process of collecting the logs. As a developer myself I know the steps followed and screenshots are valuable when debugging.

I included 2 files for you:

The steps with screenshots of what I did (the MSWord file) and the zip file with the logs.

Kind regards,

Riaan

Could the Server verification certificates issue have something to do with this?

@riaan.marx Thank you for the logs, thank you for the detailed word document. really appreciate it. This will help a lot to understand what is happening.

(the Q drive should not have been deleted in this situation but that is OK 🙂 ). We will treat this as priority to see what is happening.

@riaan.marx The certificate seems non suspect to this problem but I have to look into the logs. This one seems different but will know soon.
