Alignment tool disappears in EIP?

As the title states, my ability to align disappears from both the modify menu and the icon toolbar when entering edit in place mode. I can still move components and bodies in the local component context being edited, including using the point to point option, which seems like alignment in everything but name. Setting aside the issues with aligning in general and using joints being a best/better practice, is this supposed to happen? And if it is, why? Thanks.

not all tools today are supported during edit in place (EIP).  Over time, more and more commands will be supported.
