Aligning Sketch with Origin and Component

I am struggling with building components off of an initial sketch that is an imported DXF file from Adobe Illustrator (we are a sign shop, so primarily start with .ai logo file from clients) and often as I get into slightly more complex designs, I find I run into issues keeping my original sketch aligned with the origin on my components, and inevitably as I add more pieces to the design, the parts lose alignment with the sketch, causing elements to appear off to the side from where they are intended to sit.  This is challenging to explain, and I've never posted here before, so not sure as to the correct protocol, but I run into this issue a lot, so any advise as to how to re-align a sketch with the origin of a component without it effecting the placement of other pieces in the design would be greatly appreciated.

In order to get the best response, attach one of your Fusion 360 models which illustrates your issue.  If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 model follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save as a F3D or F3Z file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section of a forum post to attach it.

I am just guessing, without your example model, but here is a workflow to create your first component from the DXF and then align it to the origin.  You could move the DXF sketch to the origin but I find this way easier.  Please attach one of your examples for a better answer.

I was wondering if you now have the solution to your Forum post?  If so, please select the post that solved your issue and then select Accept Solution so others can find similar answers and it takes the post off of the board.  You must be logged into the Forum to select Accept Solution.
