2D Drafting Section View Cross Hatch Not Showing - Have any tips and tricks?

I am setting up a 2D drawing with a section view to send out parts for quote to a vendor. Some bodies and components in the section view are not showing cross hatching. I've seen a few forum threads about this issue, but don't see any of those solutions working for me. The only way I've got the cross hatching to work is if I move the section view dividing line off the middle of the design, but I can't do this for the drawing as there is only one section view slice orientation that will work for this drawing.

What I find strange is that two of the 4 bodies have cross hatching and the other two do not. All 4 bodies are revolved from a 2d profile sketch. 2 bodies are inserted components (one hatches one does not) and 2 bodies are components in the base 3d design (one hatched one does not). I am struggling to identify any similarities with the bodies that don't hatch vs the ones that do.

Things I've tried:

  • Rotating the bodies on the Y axis (into the section as shown)
  • Rotating the non hatching bodies on the Z axis (the central axis that parts have axial symmetry on)
  • Adding extra extrusion features to the revolved bodies that aren't showing cross hatching. (I noticed that the only bodies not showing cross hatching had just one revolve command to make them while the bodies that did work hat extra threading, bolt holes, etc)
  • Moving the section cut off center (does work as mentioned, but not a useful section for the drawing)

Sorry I can't show the whole design, but have screen shot some semi-useful portions

Hello @jam3ssnyder

Thank you for posting the issue you are facing. Can you please share the dataset with us using the share link? Here's the page that has information about sharing the file link.

Having the dataset will help us debug the issue better.

Thank you,

Hi

I have the same problem

I made a cross section view in drawing model on a body sent to me in STP format

The section view appeared without any hatching nor I could hardly find any hatching commands in the menus

Would you please help

This is a snapshot of the section view without hatches

This sounds like a different problem to me.

It probably would have been best to start a new discussion thread and link back to this one for reference.

Does the geometry pass quality check?

Can you Attach the STEP file and or the *.f3d file here for diagnosis?

Hello
Thank you for your fast response
I finally managed to make the hatching
This is a symmetrical part by the way
I made the section on the front view and put the section view on the right
of the front view where the hatch lines were not visible
However, when I made the same section of the front view again and placed
the section on the left side the hatches became visible

kind regards
