2D Chamfer Tool Path

Good Morning,

I have been encountering this issue when I add a chamfer operation to my Fusion program. I am attempting to chamfer the edge of a counterbore with the 2D chamfer tool. I have selected my desired chamfer tool and have selected the geometries. I have set a .015" chamfer width and click OK. When looking at the toolpath, it seems to be broken up in the middle of chamfering an edge. I have attached a screenshot to explain easier.

I have no had an issue with chamfering the profile of the part, only the top edge of the counterbore.

Thanks,

Hi @lsheriffRGY9K,

Could you share your file, or a sample file that reflects your selections and settings?

File > Export > Save to local folder, return to thread and attach the .f3d file in your reply

Hi @Joshua.Aigen , thanks for the reply. I have created a sample file with my same selections and settings. I will attach the file to this reply.

Hi @lsheriffRGY9K, I was trying to find what was causing this behavior and I don't think I have that kind of Fusion mastery, but I did find that adjusting the tolerance from 0.0004 to 0.0018 did fix the toolpath.Forum.JPG

Yep, Tolerance is 99.99% of the time to be the cause of this.

Hi @Joshua.Aigen, thanks again for taking the time to look into this. I also am not sure what is causing the tool path to do this. I changed the smoothing tolerance to .0018 and it did not fix the tool path. I will continue to tweak the chamfer settings to see if I can get the tool path to return to normal.

Thanks!

I often find that I need to open it all the way to  .003 or .004" in some case

Hello @seth.madore, I ended up increasing the tolerance to .001" and it fixed the tool path. Thanks for the help!
