Multi-Level BOM Export

It is not possible to export multi-level BOMs for the complete Product list.  A multi-level BOM can only be exported for a single selected product.  It would be helpful to export multi-level BOMs for the complete Products list when doing analyses on the entire product population.  A one-time export is much more efficient than exporting one by one.

You can get the raw data, but I get the point that having the multiple levels can be handy. What kind of analysis are you doing afterwards? This would help me understand the use case, if more columns are needed, and where to eventually make that available in the software.

The end game is to get a multi-level costed BOM that provides the cost of material and the labor cost.  Of course, I can get a multi-level BOM for a single product, but we are doing some offline analysis and downloading a complete product list of multi-level BOMs would be more expedient.  We are manually calculating the cost of material in a multi-level BOM by multiplying the BOM quantity by the material unit cost that we have entered on the product screen field.  This is done for every purchased part and raw material (a material used for a manufactured part).  We then roll-up the list of costs from the multi-level BOM to arrive at the total material cost for a part, sub-assembly, or finished good.  Likewise, we calculate the total labor for a product by multiplying the standard time by the worker rate..  We roll-up this cost just like we do for material.  The total cost of a product is, therefore, the sum of material plus labor.  Note: we include overhead in our hourly worker rate.  It would be nice if this planned/estimated cost was held as a field in the Product screen (advanced fields), but also be able to export a report, filterable by products, families, etc.  We would want to see the material cost, labor cost and total cost.

This frames more as a overall cost analysis, including labor, and not just the sub products themselves. We have part of this information in the batch cost update feature (under Products), we are missing a way to export it for several Products.

It is possible to create customizable product parameters (just reach out to your account manager or support), where you can enter that data - it takes us very little time. This data is also retrieved when you bulk export the data to Excel, in the Products list.
