Y axis not homing, would love troubleshooting advice

Hi guys, I thought I’d give this forum a shot since there are so many knowledgeable people here, although it’s more of a general CNC question than Autodesk. Basically the Y axis on my studio’s machine is not homing and I don’t know how to go about troubleshooting, and I currently don’t have access to the people who do (it’s late). I’m using LinuxCNC- precix Mesa.

I turned on the power, toggled the power in linux, pressed home all, as usual. The machine homed the X and Z axis, but will not start homing the Y axis, although Linux is showing that the machine is moving continuously in the Y direction. I’m guessing this could be a limit switch problem but I’m still learning so I’m not sure how that could be troubleshooted. If anyone has suggestions or resources to this specific problem, I’d be grateful. Thank you
