Y AXIS LATHE CONTOUR MACHINING TOOLPATH

Hi guys,

I'm having trouble working out what tool path to use in the attached model to machine the pockets out of this part. I would have thought 2d contour would have done the trick but can't get it to work.

I plan on using the flank of the endmill to come in from the side in multiple passes at full depth.

Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Thanks for the video @a.laasW8M6T! I think the one thing I would do (and that's quite likely just my personal preference) is that I would actually make a joint to bring the part to the "document origin", I find that my SpaceMouse rotates around that point instead of the visible model on-screen.

@seth.madore , that is probably a better idea, I did think of that after I posted the Video.

The issue with the stock silhouette not being aligned to the actual stock(but to the origin) I think is quite old or is it also related to CAM-56718 at all?

@a.laasW8M6T I cannot thankyou enough. As you said it was drawn in a weird orientation.

Got it running straight away and out the door. Did not expect a detailed video!!🙏
