I'm not sure if this is normal or an issue. I have my WCS origin is set to a spot on my fixture plate. I noticed that my stock was sitting .010" above the plate so I moved the plate up. I went back into CAM expecting that I'd have to regen all my tool paths. Fusion didnt indicate that I had to, so I zoomed in on my WCS and noticed it will set to .010 below where it should be. In other words, my WCS origin didnt move up when I moved my fixture plate. I went into my setup and as you can see in the screencast, the WCS moved automatically without changing anything. Seems like it should move with the fixture without having to go back into setup.
Hi,
I just had the same issue.
After I was done I moved the part 2mm and clicked the 'Generate' button.
I posted my NC-program and all toolpaths were 2mm shifted.
I had to open the setup and re-select my WCS to make it all right.
This means I can't trust it anymore and I have to check every NC-program after post processing..
Are you able to share your model, so that we can take a look at this?
Thanks,
Jeff
Hi Jeff,
You can find the files in the attachments.
I hope I did it right.
Rick
Perfect. Thank you.
Can you tell me which builds/versions of Inventor and Inventor CAM you're using?
Jeff
Thank you. We'll take a look. There are actually 2020 versions now of both products, and 2021 versions are either already released (Inventor) or imminent (Inventor CAM).
Jeff
Hi Jeff,
In addition:
The sketch I made in the assembly, did not move either.
Even after hit the 'Local Update' button.
I had to open the sketch and after closing it moved.
