Warning: The tool flute isn't long enough.

I get this warning every time I use 'Trace'. But it won't outreach the flute length..

Fusion bug reports are not visible to those outside of Autodesk, sorry.

I assume that this is related.  The attached tool path should give a "Tool Flute isn't long enough" error and it doesn't.

Uhh, it does....

Maybe I have some setting incorrect? My simulation does not show any collisions.

Try toggling the full screen button at the top right. Every now and again it may tuck the status bar behind your Windows taskbar..

I just cropped out the status bar.  It shows all green as well.  I just opened the archive file that I attached to this post and simulated it to make sure there wasn't a difference between what I sent as well.

Hmm, still can't get it to NOT show collisions. What version of Fusion are you on, it should be 2.0.16985

Yes I have :

Fusion 360 2.0.16985 x86_64
Active Plan: Student
Windows 10 Pro 22H2 (19045.3448)

I've found that I get collisions when I change the tool shoulder length to the flute length but not with the shoulder length larger than the cut depth.

@taitsmith7 @seth.madore

Hmmm, @seth.madore I am getting exactly the same as @taitsmith7 and I am on the 16985 version, no error unless the shoulder height is the same as the flute height.

Well this is interesting. I'm asking some folks that know more about what's going on behind the scenes to see if there's something I've done differently.

So, an update; apparently, there was a Preview Flag that was made accessible in march of '22 to Insiders that contained Simulation improvements, which is why I'm seeing collisions and you are not. We are nearing completion of an improved Collision Checking experience, so you can either wait for that to be release or sign up for the Insider build and have access to what we are currently working on:
