User defined machine with only X, Y and A axis

Hi everyone,

I'm willing to build a CNC machine with only 2 linear axis X and Y, and a rotary table spinning around X axis.
Instead of a traditional spindle holding the tool, i would like to use kind of a sanding band to grind ''complex'' shapes in metal sheets fixed onto the rotary table.

The idea is to draw the shape within Fusion 360 (2D) then generate the G-code with the ''Manufacturing'' tool,  eventually simulate the table travel (if this is feasible), and import the NC file in my CNC controller (DDCS4 V3.1 CNC controller).

Is this possible?

Has anyone tried something similar ?
