unoptimized toolpath in 2d contour with multiple depth and different pieces

Hello Everyone,

I'm using "2D contour" machining with several depths and different parts but I don't understand why the toolpath goes from one part to another without finishing it.

I can't find a way to fix it.

Thanks a lot

It is probably because they are too close together, if the tool is "jumping" back and forth from one shape to another and not finishing one before going on to the next that is the likely cause. This is a known issue but when if ever it will be changed is not known 🙂

Try setting them apart a distance of at least 2 x Diameter of the cutter and see if that works for you.

If it is a problem for you regarding too wasteful of material then try the "Trace" toolpath 🙂 🙂 🙂

Hello @engineguy,

Thanks a lot for your answer. I moved the part and indeed, it solves the problem. 😀

I will try "trace" toolpath 🙂
