Hello, I'm trying to generate a 2D toolpath on a part.  The perimeter of the part does not have a continuous edge, see pic below.  I can use the alt pic method to select all the edges, but for some reason it does not make a continuous path, it makes one for each plane.  How do I get the edge of the upper contour to drop down to the lower plate so its all one continuous path?

Thanks,

Walt

Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving if you are in the US of A

Take a look at this screencast I made showing how to select edges that aren't on the same plane

Good. Fast. Cheap. Pick two.

In addition to @LibertyMachine's post, you likely have From Selected Contour as your Bottom Height choice. If you choose something such as From Model Bottom it should override the separate heights and create a continuous toolpath.

Also good to note I think is that Alt+selection is sort of an override, and personally I very much prefer to utilize one single chain if at all possible (sometimes model issues make this impossible, but not in this case).
