Trying to keep this shell mill from helicaling onto the part

Don't want to load up the inside of the shell mill on this adaptive program. Tried to use an entry position but still dropping on the part. Also, if anyone knows, does fusion adjust the helical for face mills differently compared to center cutting endmills to guarantee that the middle of the tool doesn't get loaded up?

I'm not seeing where the Adaptive toolpath is plunging into the part, could you point me to the problem area?

For helical ramping into the part with a shell mill, you certainly want to use the largest helix diameter possible. No, Adaptive does not calculate toolpath based on any missing portion of a tool, it assumes cutting across the full diameter.

Okay, the file you shared has it set to "Plunge", so that explains why I missed that.

You should open your Ramp Helix Max Diameter to a larger value, such as 1.9", with the Min value set to 1.3" (or so). Secondly, when using a Shell Mill, I'd also reduce the Ramping Angle, perhaps to 1-1.5 degrees.

Ill give it a try and I switched from ramp to plunge before I sent it. added a entry position off the part trying to see if it would fix the issue but it ignored it

just ran it and it kinda sounded worse than my other ramp setting i dont know if changing the helical diameter made it pack up on the corner. Max 1.9 Min 1.3. Let me know if there is anyway i can just have it feed from off the part
