how to build tool geometry for external turning in today's machine standard, i.e. rotary turning axes. will fusion stop being 100 years behind when it comes to tool geometry?

Hi @piotrVMP6A,

 

These kinds of tools are not configurable but you can define a geometry that comes a little bit close like it is a basic turning tool.

 

Those kinds of tools are something that Autodesk is working on.

So one day it will be possible.

i've been trying for a couple of days but nothing fits enough for me to trust the result, can you provide guidance on what angles and dimensions to use, the tool is left handed but the turning is done at 45 degrees.

In worst-case scenarios, you can put in the CAD model of the tool and place it at the geometry that causes you the critical situation.

And then measure the angle and use that within the operation.

 

But I understand your question very well and also I can't wait until it's implemented.
