Tangential Extension - Turning Profile Finishing - Not Working

Hello, I am trying to extend a tool path beyond the from of the part and avoid a chamfer. According to the hover over tool tip, the selection is placed on the edge of the chamfer at the OD and a Tangential Extension is entered in to extend the OD out past the front of the part.

I tried this, but all I get is a gouge undercut at the back of the part and not a tool path the runs along the OD.

This seems to happen quite a bit and its getting very frustrating trying to create tool paths when I spend more time trial and error in hopes something works instead of it just working.

So I am posting here in hopes I can expose a possible bug and hope it gets fixed, or someone here can expose a bug in how I am doing this and fix me.

I tried with sketch lines and using the model and I cannot get this ti work as its supposed to. Any help would be appreciated.

We're still looking at it but for now a workaround would be to slightly raise your outer radius and clearance. i raised it by 0.01. Also, set your grooving to "dont allow grooving" so your toolpath wont dip at the back.

Interesting, I see it seems to play nice when your over .01567.

Something else I noticed and have had to do also is to slightly raise or lower the Outer Radius and Inner Radius when doing other things too. Seems to not like being set equal to the actual sizes. I never had to change it by this much on other tool paths, but I have had to steak it by about .001 just to make it output the tool path.

Perhaps these issues are connected.
