Straight Lead-in on 2D contour

I'm trying to do a simple 2D contour and want it to lead in and out as straight extensions of the selected surfaces.  I can't seem to figure out how to make it do this.  Attached is an image of what I'm getting.

On the geometry tab there is an option called Tangential Extension. Set this to the distance you want to use and set lead parameters to zero (although this won't work all that well if you need to use tool compensation - you'll need the lead-in distance to be >0, preferably larger than whatever offset may be expected).
