SO still trying to figure out Fusion and CNC-ing, getting close though. one small issue, is there a way to get it to JUST knock out these little bits left from the bigger bit 1st run without it refacing the whole area? Tried "rest" and a few other things but nothing seems to just do a simple hit and run of those small areas. think there is one of the operations that does just this but I can get it right...🤔Screen Shot 2021-06-15 at 7.57.48 AM.png

Hello, thanks for posting your question! Could you share your Fusion file?
File > Export > Save to local folder, return to thread and attach the .f3d file in your reply

nope, free version doesn't allow sharing.

Ummm Autodesk... I totally get the whole free version restrictions... but that one is kinda stupid!

opps.. corrected.. I can Export, just not share a direct link... ummm still seems like a really foolish restriction.. really foolish as 90% of the use by newbe's is sharing it to figure out what they are doing wrong?

anyway, back to point- file uploading

Thanks a bunch

To the matter at hand; sometimes the simplest toolpath offers the best solution. What I'd do (because I hate constant fiddling with 3D Adaptive) is to use a 2D Adaptive with Rest Machining turned on. That gives us this toolpath:

One note though; Adaptive (2D and 3D) are roughing toolpaths. You aren't going to get quality lines on all your contours. Typically, one would use Adaptive to rough out the material, and then come back in with another finishing toolpath, such as 2D/3D Contour and finish the walls.

cool.. I actually had 2D adaptive 1st, as well as a few others, (slot, trace,. blah blah)  was bouncing around when I saved.  I'll look at that.. thanks. 🙂 guessed it was just something I was doing/not doing. !

OK, that actually didn't take out the main area, the little slices between. I even went to a MUCH smaller bit

That's because some of your toolpath settings prevent it from entering the cavity:
