Shopsabre controller post processor problems, fusion 360 for mac

Hi,

I'm not able to add a post processor to make the G code to use my Shopsabre IS 510. I tried what was mentioned in this thread https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-manufacture/post-processor-for-shopsabre-cnc/m-p/7695762#M... and I tried adding the new post processor with this guide https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/fusion-360/learn-explore/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-t..., but I was not able to add any new post processor or personal post processor to fusion 360, I'm using Fusion 360 for mac (all the guidelines that I was able to find were only for windows). As well I tried to use the WinCNC post processor that was already in fusion, but it doesn't work.

Can anybody help me?

Thank you!!

Hi Brandon,

Thank you for your reply, but your message is not the solution. I already have found the right post processor. The problem is that I'm not able to add it to fusion 360 with the fusion 360 guidelines, because the ones provided are only for windows users and not mac users.

So if anybody has experience with it and knows how to solve this, it would be amazing!

Thank you!

Ok I use a mac

two options but first is this pp a fusion 360 one

download load it as per then start fusion open the asset folder on the left look for cam posts section and upload it there then when you need is select My cloud post in the pp menu tree

option two

make sure you have your user name ticked in the preference drop down in finder

download it but put it in the cam post directory on your Mac  it’s in username (yours),autodesk ,fusion cam.  , posts open that and put the pp in there

again in the pp drop down select personal posts
that should do it

Hi Stuart-H

Thank you so much for your explanation! I tried both ways and in both, I wasn't able to do it.

I uploaded the shopsabre.cps file to the CAMPosts folder. But I can't find it in "My cloud post", or better said, I can't select anything in it, it's grey and can't click on it. (I have a student license and I don't know if that has something to do with it??

And in option 2, the only folders I can choose from are: nc, Settings and templates, not posts.

I uploaded 2 screenshots of what I see.

Thank you, Stuart!!

Yes!

Now I can select the shopsabre.cps!! What I did was deleted from my CAMPosts folder and uploaded it again. I don't know why that worked but it worked.

Thank you for helping me out with the mac post process situation!

Now I have another issue. Using the shopsabre.cps file didn't work. Shop Sabre Controller still doesn't read the file. It says Error - G28 Required for XYZ (attached I put a picture of the screen and how I'm exporting the g code).

As well I got this pp file "ShopSabre_ATC_speed_arc_inch.pp" and that should work (this is the .pp that is been used with V-carve Pro and is able to communicate with the controller), but I'm not able to add it to fusion 360, once it is in my cloud library it doesn't appear on the drop down menu. Is it possible to add .pp files???? (I tried to do what I did with the other one, didn't work).

Hopefully, someone knows what's happening and can help me solve this issue.

Thank you!

Hi Bradon,

I installed the shopsabre.cps file but it didn't work. The ShopSabre Controller still doesn't read the file. It says Error - G28 Required for XYZ (attached I put a picture of the screen and how I'm exporting the g code).

As well I got this pp file "ShopSabre_ATC_speed_arc_inch.pp" (this file was provided by ShopSabre to use with Vcarve pro) and that should work, but I can't install .pp files on fusion 360.

By any chance do you have experience with this?

Thank you!

I realize this reply may be a bit late but every time you power on your machine you have to run the Home program (G28) prior to running any cut files.
