I'm trying to cut some holes into the bottom of a block of wood after a pocket operation has hollowed it into a shell. I need a way to let Fusion know that stock has been removed by the pocket operation and that it doesn't need to do 16+ passes just to get down to the actual stock.
Rest machining seems like the proper way to do this, but I can't get it to work at all with any of my slot, bore, and 2D contour toolpaths:
- I created a new setup and selected Continue Rest Machining and that did nothing.
- I tried turning on rest machining in the 2D Contour toolpath (the only one that has this option) and that created an empty toolpath.
- I tried changing the stock to use the hollowed out model, but it appears that no matter what I do, the stock remains a rectangular box (it won't recognize the pocket).
What do I need to do to get this to work? Project file is attached. Thanks.
