"Use Fixed Lead Direction" in Turning Groove

Folks,

Is there a way to get this option to work for the lead out on the finish pass in the "Groove" toolpath? It doesn't seem to change the angle of my lead out, no matter what what I put in the field...

It looks like you're using the old Groove toolpath. Have you tried the Groove Finishing toolpath and if so, what were the results? Here's what I would expect to see:

File > Export > Save to local folder, return to thread and attach the .f3d/.f3z file in your reply.

Yes, it works in "Groove Finishing", thanks. I suppose my question is why doesn't it work in the other toolpath I was using? And, if there's no intention of making it work, why is it there at all?

The Groove toolpath you were using is an old toolpath that worked in some conditions but not others. With the new Groove Roughing and Groove Finishing toolpaths, they leverage new kernels and all work is being directed at making those more robust solutions. Any bug that exists in the old Groove toolpath is highly unlikely to get addressed.

I like that progress is being made, but why not remove the old toolpath?

It seems to me that keeping it will only cause confusion, especially for new users...

The Rough and Finish toolpaths still don't support angled face grooves, which the old Groove toolpath does.
