question about manufacture set up

I'm trying to learn how to use fusion! I'm practicing my  drawing with a simple square to cut out of sheet metal. I have been watching the videos from Langmuir but this is where I get lost.

pic 1 they are in set up and it starts with setup.

pic 2 mine starts with machine

pic 3 clicked on "select" and I get the dropdown. it does not show my plasma cutter that I had set up in the library.

it is not in the edit button either.

What am I missing and/or need to do.

if you know of some good step by step videos please let me know. I'm only using sheet metal. no 3D stuff

thanks so much.Becky

At this stage of the implementation, there is little need for a person with a single machine to select "Machine" in their Setup.

As you've noticed, a lot of the tutorials out there will often show outdated UI images, and that's purely a by-product of the rapid growth curve of Fusion 360

thank you Seth! so I can ignore that section correct.

do you know of any step by step "simple  basic how to" videos.

I get how to use the drawing tools but when I get to the next step I'm lost!

yesterday I was able to get all the way to the G code but can't repeat that today!

As you've no doubt seen, there are videos out there, a lot of them good, some of them...less so. I don't have one right off the top of my head to point you towards, but here's a brief rundown of the steps:

1) Create Setup. Define your X and Z orientation

2) Create toolpaths, selecting the correct tools to use and the proper toolpaths. If you are in the Fabrication tab, the only toolpath present to you would be 2D Profile

3) Click the Post Process button, select the Post Processor you are going to use for your machine. This is based on the type of controller you are using. For example, the TorchMate would use the Torchmate post, the Mach3 Plasma would use the Mach3 plasma post, etc etc
